Bristol Nagar Kirtan History
The first Nagar Kirtan in Bristol took place in 1999. This was all organised by all the four Gurdwara's from Bristol coming together as one unit, which was just such a pleasure to see and feel.
The person who took the lead role in organising the Nagar Kirtan in 1999 was late Mukhtiar Singh Khalsa. Mukhtiar Singh Khalsa went on to organising annual Nargar Kirtans' until his health prevented him. We had Nagar Kirtan every year since 1999 apart from a few years.
This year Nagar Kirtan to mark the 550th Birthday of Guru Nanak was organaised by the Siri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara Bristol Gurmat Class. The Nagar Kirtan took Place on the 29th September 2019.
Bhai Sukjeevian Singh Khalsa along with the Gurmat Class group of Volunteers took the lead in organising the Nagar Kirtan along with the support of the four Gurdwara Sikh Council. Below are just a few Pictures of the day taken from the Bristol B24/7 website.
